Glenelg Golf Club will again be holding its annual Foundation Day on Friday, 15th August 2014. This is the Club’s only major fundraising activity for the year, with all proceeds going towards our popular and highly successful Junior Development Program.
Sunday at Kooyonga saw another convincing win to the A1s against the Golf SA Fringe team going a long way to securing their place in the final round!
A great win for Glenelg’s Cleek Stick team against Mt. Osmond at Royal Adelaide Golf Club on Monday.
Round 6 saw our A2 girls suffer a very disappointing 3 -2 defeat to Flagstaff Hill in appalling conditions – strong wind, constant rainy squalls and chilly temperatures.
Glenelg’s Sharp Cup team took on top dogs Kooyonga at The Grange’s East Course on Sunday with the contest finishing a respectable all-square at 2 and half matches each.
The Bonnar Cup side collected a good win against Blackwood at Tea Tree Gully on Sunday, despite a shaky start.
Glenelg’s Simpson Cup team ventured to Kooyonga Golf Club on Sunday for a most important match against Highercombe, coming out the victor, 6 matches to 1.
In an effort to offer some added variety and interest to the Club’s annual match and social calendars, a new event is being held in conjunction with ‘The Open’ golf championships in July.
Glenelg’s juniors played Mt Osmond under slippery and soggy conditions for round two of the Sharp Season, the of which will be prescribed as the one that got away as Glenelg went down in a dramatic finish, 3 matches to 2.
