Hole 13 Information
The 13th hole has been stretched back to James Melrose Road and proves to be a testing long par 4 into the prevailing wind. Hopefully as you played down the 12th fairway you will have noticed the pin position on this green.
As you play through a chute of sleepers, sandy heath, and pine trees, you come out into this wide fairway with only one revetted bunker positioned in the middle. This bunker known locally as the “coffin” is named that for its irregular shape and to be avoided at all costs. Positioning your tee shot left or right of the coffin bunker will depend on the pin position of the day and leave you with a mid to short iron, usually back into the prevailing breeze.
The green is tucked back into the natural dune setting of Pine Hill on the right and back with water in tight on the left side. A tiny little pot bunker on the front right allows pins to be tucked blindly behind it and tight on the dunes. Pins along the left and centre are more accessible for the run up shot but a bit too much pace will find you running through the green and into the water hazard.
