Hole 16 Information

Located above a massive expanse of wetlands, the 16th tee complex offers a large variety of tee setup options which can change this short par 3 immensely from day to day.

From the championship tee position, the hole plays a deceptive 144 metres in length, generally straight into the prevailing south-westerly. Climb up onto the newer tee mid left on top of the dune and the view completely changes feeling like you’re playing down onto this green. Alternative tee locations forward and right of the championship tee make the hole play over a larger expanse of water.

The green may appear to be quite accessible on the left with a large form feeding into the green on the front left helping kick balls to a back right pin near the water. Use these contours to your advantage if you don’t want to brave a more direct water carry. Don’t be deceived by the low right pins along the water as this green is plenty deep to hold a shorter tee shot like this.

Any tee shots left with too much pace could send you in a blind back left greenside bunker or worse yet, settling further left of the bunker and having to chip over it to a green primarily running away from the player toward the water. A large degree of finesse is required from this bailout area, or you’ll be left with an easy bogey or double.
