A small section of the 15th fairway will be utilised for a herbicide trial aimed at controlling Poa annua within our couch playing surfaces.
Like many clubs throughout the country, we are experiencing increasing difficulty removing certain species of Poa from our couch surfaces throughout the course, so an alternative treatment for our course is to be assessed alongside conventional treatments.
This may result in some discolouration of the 15th fairway, but damage should only be cosmetic and can be masked until spring.
Results will be monitored to determine the feasibility of this option in the future.
