Battle of the Codes at Glenelg

For the first time, Golf SA is staging the ‘Battle of the Codes’ – Golf Showdown to be held at Glenelg Golf Club on Wednesday 2nd April 2014 – teeing off 12.30pm.

Sports stars from South Australia’s leading sports team will compete to see who reigns supreme on the golf course.

Is it cricketers, footballers or baseballers?

Teams competing are from: Adelaide Football Club, Port Adelaide Football Club, West End Redbacks and Adelaide Bite.

To assist the teams, each team of 3 will be grouped with one of Australia’s elite Amateur golfers, invited to Adelaide by Golf SA, to compete for South Australia’s leading 72 hole Amateur Golf Championships; the combined Golf SA Men’s Amateur Classic and Women’s Rene Erichsen Salver which starts the following day (Thu 3 April through Sun 6 April) at Glenelg GC.

Australian/Redbacks batsman Callum Ferguson headlines the Cricket team, while new Power recruit, former Richmond 100 gamer Matthew White is Port Adelaide’s front liner.

Former crafty pitcher Chris Lawson is the star of the Adelaide Bite team while inaugural Crow and 97 premiership player Rod Jameson heads the Adelaide Football Club team.
