The Golf Australia Top 100 Golf Courses rankings have been released in January’s magazine, and we are proud to share another significant step forward for Glenelg Golf Club.
Our ranking progression highlights the continued improvement of the course:
- January 2022: 43rd
- January 2024: 37th
- January 2026: 32nd
This steady rise reflects the quality of the recent course improvements and the long-term vision for the Club. Notably, the Golf Australia judging was conducted while three holes were still out of play, which makes this result even more encouraging. We now look forward to the next edition in a couple of years’ time, with the full course complete and continuing to mature.
Judges were highly complimentary of the course and recent works, with particular recognition of the bunker renovations and the course’s enduring character:
“The bunker renovation at Glenelg looks fantastic; it can only enhance reputation amongst the top courses in not just SA but Australia-wide.”
— Kevin Nolan
“The recent changes are great and have maintained the character of the course.”
— Matt Laverty
“One of the Big Four courses in Adelaide, I found this course delightful despite three holes being out of play due to the ongoing improvement the club is undertaking. A mixture of wide and narrow playing corridors with off-camber slopes and two- and three-tiered greens keeps one engaged throughout the round.”
— Simon Tyndale-Biscoe
We sincerely thank our Members, staff, and course team for their continued support as Glenelg Golf Club further strengthens its standing among Australia’s leading courses.
We now look ahead to the upcoming Australian Golf Digest rankings, to be released in April. For reference, Glenelg was previously ranked No. 32 in the April 2024 Golf Digest rankings.
