Members on Tour Update

There was no tour event in Australia last week.  This weeks event is the New Zealand Open in Queenstown but Jack Buchanan is not in the field.

Sundays Vardon events were held at Flagstaff Hill where 7 of our members teed it up.  Kade Bryant shot 3 under 69 to tie for second 4 shots back from former Glenelg player Sam Earl on 65.  Next best for us was Nathan Uebergang on 77.  Kade took out the boys event.  He has now won 5 of the 6  junior events in SA that he has contested this season.  Next Sundays event is at Kooyonga where there is sure to be a strong field so a good chance to get out and see some top level golf.

On Monday the Seniors Order of Merit event was held at South Lakes.  Nick Wake came in 3rd place in the senior men’s on 75 with James Mattsson 4th on 76.  James tied for second in the net event on 70.  John Keogh was runner up in the Super Seniors scoring 79.  In the women’s section there was a 3 way tie for the win on a score of 82 including Jill Hodge and Tonia Ross.  Tonia was the handicap winner on net 72. Congratulations!  Next Mondays event is at Mount Osmond.

In junior golfing news, Gareth Thien finished third in the latest SA TeeMates competition held at North Adelaide in the 18 hole competition. In the 9 hole competition another Glenelg Junior finished runner up with Adam Muadz coming in second.
