Who We Are

Glenelg Golf Club is one of Adelaide’s leading private golf clubs with a vision to be one of the premier golf clubs in Australia. Rated within the top 35 Courses nationally, we are currently seeking to employ two enthusiastic and motivated Qualified Greenkeepers or Related Tradespersons to join our course maintenance team in the role of Qualified Turf Tradesperson.

It’s an exciting time for the Glenelg Golf Club, with its centenary in 2027, the club over the last 2 years has invested in implementing a full Course Enhancement Project.  With seven holes completed thus far, work encompasses full irrigation system replacement, reconstruction of bunkers, full greens resurfacing – with a majority of the strategic design improvements carried out by the Course Staff.

The Course Maintenance Team’s work in the field of environmental initiatives and sustainability over the last twelve months was acknowledged in 2022 with the awarding of the ASTMA Claude Crockford Environmental and Sustainability Award.

What you will do with us

  • Assist with set up of the golf course for completion of competition rounds and general play.
  • Course construction.
  • Bunker, rough, fairway and general golf course maintenance.
  • Develop an understanding of golf course irrigation systems.
  • Pest and disease identification and control.
  • Perform tasks that are necessary to keep maintenance facility and equipment clean, organised, and safe daily. 
  • Applying, storing, and handling of chemicals as required and directed. 
  • Performing all functions and golf course maintenance activities as directed. 

What we are looking for

  • Minimum of Certificate 3 in Turf Management or a related Trade or a minimum of 5 years’ experience.
  • Willing to start early in the morning and work flexible hours, including some rostered weekend work.
  • Possess a keen eye for detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to be courteous towards members and present a positive image of our team.
