After finishing runner-up in the Pacific Coast Amateur in Vancouver, Jack Buchanan travelled to Spain to compete as a member of the Asia-Pacific team in the Bonallack Trophy from 3-5 August. The Bonallack Trophy is a Ryder Cup style event for the top amateurs of Europe against Asia-Pacific. There are 12 members of each team with Australia also represented by Harrison Crowe. Over the first 2 days there were four foursomes and four-ball matches. Jack was teamed with his good friend Harrison in all of these matches and they compiled 3 wins and one loss. In the final day singles Jack delivered a vital 2/1 win over Welshman James Ashfield to help Asia Pacific to a 17-15 victory and retention of the trophy.
