Support Sarah on Her Ironman Journey

IRONMAN Cairns

On June 6, Sarah King will be doing her first Ironman in Cairns.

“About 2 years ago I was looking for a way to really test myself physically and mentally, something completely out of my comfort zone, when I stumbled across the idea of doing an Ironman. An Ironman is a triathlon consisting of a 3.8km swim, 180km bike and a 42.2km run, all to be competed within a 17 hour time cap. When setting this goal I didn’t own a bike and I had never learnt to swim. I sourced the help of a professional coach to guide me along the way with my training”.

For the past 2 years Sarah has been training for 15-20 hours per week to get ready for this major event. She wants to prove that anything is possible with hard work and determination.

To push it that little bit further, Sarah is raising money for Beyond Blue, a charity that she believes is very important, especially with all that has happened in the world in the last year. Mental health is so important for all of us and we all know someone that has been affected or is suffering in someway.

From everyone at the Club, we would like to wish Sarah the very best on her quest to conquer the Ironman in June. If you would like to support Sarah and her fundraising for Beyond Blue, please follow the link below to make a donation.
