Jake Hurst has taken out his first Golf SA Junior Open title after solid rounds of 75 & 74 for a 36 hole total of 149 (8 over the card). Hurst who had 5 birdies during each round, finished two strokes ahead of Grange’s Andrew Nakone Jnr 75, 76 (151).
Players faced hot and windy conditions during round one at The Vines of Reynella, before tackling the testing Flagstaff Hill layout for round two.
Josh Hayes finished in 5th position with rounds of 81, 72, 153 while Haydn Booth played consistently with two 78’s to finish in a tie for 8th position.
In the Girls Open, Kristalle Blum (The Grange) playing off a handicap of 3, finished 4 strokes ahead of Rachel Taylor (Mt Osmond) with rounds of 76 & 73 (149) – which included 4 birdies in each round. Glenelg’s Matilda Wheare finished in 4th position.
Alyssa Sedunary (The Grange) claimed the net event with net scores of 77, 64 (141). Caillin Lakin (McCracken) was runner up.
Hugh Mitchell (Flagstaff Hill) with a net total of 137 won the Boy’s net aggregate event by 1 stroke ahead of Graham Coleman (Grange).
