Women’s A3 Results

Round 6, 17 June

Round 6 – the A3’s playing against Flagstaff Hill, found the hilly course and cold conditions, quite a challenge!

Three matches went to the 18^th, with a well fought squared result recorded.

Our number 1, Sandy Francas was an early winner. Sandy was 3 up after nine, and continued her steady play and good putting over the back nine, to have a convincing 4/3 win.

Jo Lendrum, playing number 2 this week, had an eagle on the par 5 sixth hole. Her third shot was holed from the bunker!  At this point Jo moved to 2 up, and she held onto this lead into the back nine. Jo had a very competitive match, but was unfortunately edged out over a couple of latter holes, finishing on the 17^th, losing 3/1.

Our other matches all conculded at the 18^th!

Jo Ricourt, playing number 5, kept in touch with her opponent all day, was square after nine, still square starting the 18^th. Jo played this long par 5 with precision: her par resulting in a super win!

Sue Tuohy, playing number 4, was also square after nine holes. The scores ebbed and flowed during this even match – Sue started the 18^th just one down, as was the result, and another super competitive effort by Sue.

The overall match result was square with Sue Raggatt playing the 18^th! Sue was also one down at the start of this hole, and had played some inspiring pars during her match.

Sue added the 18^th to this list: outplaying her opponent to win this hole! And halving her match!

Congratulations to players and caddies, this squared match felt like a win!

The A3’s are third on the ladder.  The remaining minor round match is next Monday at Blackwood against Royal Adelaide before the semi-finals on 1 July at Mount Osmond.
