Strong Win for Bonnar

Strong Win for Bonnar

Round 4, 2 June

Last Sunday the Bonnar team ventured to scenic North Adelaide Golf course to take on Regency Park in a critical must win contest.

It was certainly pleasing to achieve a strong 6/1 victory. The Glenelg boys adapted to the conditions well and established a strong early lead. After 6 holes, Glenelg were ahead in 6 matches and square in the other one. That trend continued and by the 13th hole we were ahead in all 7 games.

Henry Duregon at No. 4 was having the tightest game of the day – he was 1 up or square for most of the day, but lost the last hole when a shortish putt slid by the hole to lose 1 down.

Ben Magi at No. 7 played solidly all day to claim a 5 & 4 win.

At No. 6 Michael Ratajewski was struggling with his game early on but recovered from 1 down after 7 to fight back and record a hard fought 2 & 1 win.

Simon Gallie at No.5 again played some very good golf in his match. He got in front early to be 3 up after 11 and held that to win 3 & 2.

At No. 3 David Hiern was having an up and down sort of day – he was 3 up after 4 holes, but his opponent took advantage of some loose shots from Hierny and after 8 holes the game was back to all square – but Hierny rallied over the back 9 to win 2 & 1.

Anthony Olsen (at No.2) and Michael Munn (at No. 1) both played superb golf and were far too good on the day for their opponents with both lads being 5 up after 8 holes. Ols went on to win 5 & 4 and Munny took his game 7 & 6. A couple of very strong wins at the top of the order.

We have a bye over the long weekend coming up, but then take on Kooyonga on Sunday June 16th at Regency Park from 12.10pm – another “Must Win” contest as we strive to qualify for the Finals.
