Sanderson Cup Round 2 Win

Sanderson Cup Round 2 Win

Round 2, 2 June

In very tough, wet, foggy, cold, typical Blackwood conditions the girls fought out a very difficult match to come away with a strong win 4-1.

Jade our number 5 fought strongly all day and had a very impressive chip & one putt, holing a tricky 1.5m putt on the 18th to win the last hole, well done Jade!

Sarah played well most of the day against a strong opponent and had to play really well on the back nine ( only one over the card ) to get a 2 up win! Well played Sarah and glad to see a great last 9 holes in tough conditions.

Shakira was too good for her opponent most of the day and finished winning 3 & 2. Good to see Emma Sutton back from College golf in USA caddying for her and making them a great team on a difficult day.

Elysia played a strong opponent that kept holing lots of putts, so found it difficult to get in front and lost 3 & 2.

Charley played well with an impressive 2 under the card and 5 birdies and won a very competitive match by both girls 4 & 3.

All in all a great start for our first 2 weeks and now in a strong position to finish near the top of the ladder.

Many thanks to Ruth & Tony Martin, Chris Crocker and Emma Sutton for caddying and to Mark Kinita and Carolyn Dillon for spectating in very cold conditions.

Jill Hodge, Team Manager
