Strong Start to the A3 Pennant Season
Round 1, 6th May
On a calm, sunny, autumn day, Glenelg defeated an experienced Kooyonga team, 4/1 on the very well presented but tight West Lakes course.
Juliet Cully had a great start, 6 up after 9, finishing 8/7. Great focus during this short match!
Jo Ricourt also had a strong front nine, 4 up at the turn, although conceding a few holes on the back nine, finished with a convincing 2/1 win.
Other matches were evenly poised after 9 holes:
Sue Tuohy, just 1 down at the turn, played steadily with good shot selection to finish 2 up.
Jo Lendrum was one up after nine, her long hitting and accuracy around the greens proved to be too strong for her opponent. Jo won 4/3
Number one player, Sue Raggatt, was one down after nine, but was then edged out around the greens, finishing on the 15th.
Congratulations players and caddies – a great team win.
Thanks to our supportive caddies: Cathy Darling, Fiona Eblen, Jill Gehling, Bec Hughes and Bob Tuohy
