McMillan Shield Report

Unfortunately our last game of the season was cancelled due to heat, instead the team and families joined at the golf club for a few pizzas.

The team was asked 8 questions by Christine which they collectively answered:

Q: What was the best part of playing MacMillan Shield?

A: Playing and meeting new teammates, having a fun day, playing all the different courses and of course eating all the lollies and chips.

Q: Did you enjoy your experience?

A: Overall it was a great experience, we learnt lots of new things however we faced challenges having to play in the heat.

Q: What did you learn?

A: We learnt how to work as a team, how to score in stableford, learning all the new courses and course management.

Q: Did you make friendships?

A: Yes we made a lot of friends which we are excited to keep playing golf with.

Q: Did you feel part of a team?

A: Yes, it was great to support and be supported by our teammates.

Q: Did you enjoy reading about your results?

A: Yes, Christine did an excellent job, it was great to have the ability to reflect on our game and analyse what we could do better or what we did really well.

Q: Would you do it again?

Yes. We loved the experience and having Christine as our manager, however it was challenging in the heat. Overall, we all want to improve our game, which might mean aiming for different things to challenge ourselves.

Q: Would you recommend Glenelg MacMillan Shield experience to your friends who want to take up golf?

A: For those who want to give golf a shot we would recommend the experience, it was a great program to be a part of. However, as the team mentioned, its challenging playing in the heat and especially being able to control your temper.

The team would like to say a massive thank you to Christine, the dedication you showed really helped the players. And also to Ryan Reavley, Glenelg Golf Club, our families, and friends for giving us the wonderful opportunity and supporting us throughout the season.
