With a decorated career spanning a number of prestigious tournaments the Club is excited to announce the addition of Adam Bland to the Glenelg Golf Club’s teaching ranks. Adam brings a wealth of experience and expertise to our teaching ranks. From victories at the WA PGA and the Canadian Golf Tour to competing on the European and Nationwide Tours, Adam’s journey is marked by achievements, including notable finishes at events like the Australian Masters and the Japan PGA. His recent triumph at the Blitz golf event underscores his prowess on the course.

Beyond accolades, Adam’s passion for the game shines through in his participation in events like the Open Championship at St Andrews. As he joins Glenelg Golf Club, we eagerly anticipate the insights and guidance he’ll provide to our Club to enhance skills and deepen Member’s and guests love for the game. Welcome, Adam Bland, to our esteemed teaching team!

“My name is Adam Bland and I am thrilled to announce that I will be offering golf coaching at Glenelg Golf Club, from the beginning of April. I am so excited to have the opportunity to bring my 20 years of professional golf experience, knowledge and expertise to your members.

Although Adelaide has been my home since the age of six, I have spent much of my adult life travelling the world playing professional golf and learning from some of the best coaches and playing some of the best golf courses. I’m now trading my 14A plane seat for a fold-up chair at the Saturday morning Grade 4 Craigburn Primary cricket matches, and couldn’t be happier.

A bit of a bio for those who are interested: My first win was the WA PGA in 2005, and I was fortunate enough to win twice on the Canadian Golf Tour in 2007/08. I have played on the European Tour and Nationwide Tour (now Cornferry Tour), came second in the Australian Masters in 2010 and second on the Australian Tour Order of Merit in 2017. My most recent win was the Blitz golf event in Melbourne in January, which is always a fun event, and one that everyone should get to, should they get the chance! My most successful win to date was the Japan PGA in 2015. After all of that, probably my favourite experience on tour was playing an Open Championship at St Andrews, which was my second of three British Open events.

Over my 20 years as a professional I have been coached by Dennis McDade, Ian Triggs, Gereth Jones, Jens Nilsson, Adrian Wickstein and Troy Lane, and am excited to be able to bring my own accumulative techniques and theories to the amazing members of Glenelg, and hopefully bring some of the wider Adelaide community to your beautiful golf course.

At first I’ll be offering two or three blocks of time per week, and will increase that with demand. They’ll include half-hour and hour-long lessons, and my speciality is 9-hole playing lessons.

Stay tuned to the GGC website for availability!

Please come and say hi if you see me on the range!”
