Minda Day Report from the Women’s President

I arrived at the course bright and early at 6:30 am on Tuesday, February 7th. Though I had a fleeting desire to play, my role as one of the helpers meant my focus was on ensuring the day ran smoothly rather than hitting balls. The Golf Course was beautiful at that early hour, and soon everyone was arriving and there was no time for envy – only excitement and hope that the day went smoothly. The day unfolded perfectly for golf, thanks to the immaculate course conditions and the wholehearted commitment of our supporters. I’m thrilled to announce that the total funds raised for this event reached an impressive amount of nearly $7500. Thank you immensely for your generosity and support!

Our Minda Raffle, featuring an assortment of generously donated prizes, was a hit. Congratulations to Ian Richards, Natalie Potter, and Desley Carey on their wins. The baskets overflowed with an array of delightful goodies!

It was heartening to see many of our visiting players walk away with prizes, adding to the spirit of inclusivity and community. Lunch was a delightful affair, with tables abuzz with laughter and lively conversation. We were privileged to hear from Louise Fletcher from Minda, who provided insight into how our contributions are making a meaningful difference. As we celebrate 56 years of association with this event, it’s evident that our bond with Minda grows stronger with each passing year.

The committee extends heartfelt thanks to:

  • The Pro Shop for their invaluable assistance in preparing the tee sheet and managing logistics behind the scenes.
  • Jake Milne for his exceptional camera work, capturing the essence of our event.
  • Tash, Anna, James, and the dedicated kitchen and bar staff for ensuring our guests were well-fed and hydrated.
  • Ros Osborn for adding a touch of beauty with her floral arrangements.
