Members On Tour Update

On the Australian PGA tour, Jack Buchanan was not in the field at last week’s Webex Players Series event in Sydney and nor is he playing this weeks event in the Hunter Valley.

Locally for the amateurs, the Vardon events continued with the John Crosby Trophy contested at The Vines last Sunday.  The course was presented in outstanding condition with no wind and good conditions for scoring.  Glenelg had 15 members in action.  Tea Tree Gully’s Sean Park won the event with an excellent score of 4 under par 67.  Leading the way for Glenelg was runner-up Nathan Uebergang on 68 followed by Kade Bryant third on 69.  Next best for us was Jack Leonard with 74.  Kade won the boys section with Jack in a tie for third.  The Women’s event was won by Raegan Denton from Royal Adelaide on 73.  Glenelg’s best was Zoe Manton on 80.  Next week’s event is at Mount Osmond on Sunday 18 Feb.

The Senior Order of Merit events commenced on Mon 29 January at Blackwood.  Our own Brian Welsh won the Super Senior section on 79.  In the women’s section Tonia Ross was runner-up on 85 followed by Jo Ricourt in third on 86.  The Vines Senior Open was to have been held on Monday 12 Feb but it was cancelled due to their heat policy.  The next event is Monday 19 Feb at Sandy Creek.

Good golfing!
