Last weeks pro event was the Vic Open held at our Reciprocal Club Thirteenth Beach at Barwon Heads. Jack Buchanan missed the halfway cut by one shot after shooting even par 69 – 75 = 144. This weeks event is the Webex Players Series Sydney at Castle Hill. Jack is not in the field for this mixed event.
On the amateur scene, the South Australian Vardon series for 2024 resumed last Sunday at Tea Tree Gully. The first event of the season was actually held back in November at Robe where Mick Phillips was our best performer finishing in a tie for 3rd on 74. At Tea Tree Gully there were Men’s, Women’s and Junior events. In the men’s event Harry Leaf-Milham led the way for Glenelg members scoring 77 with Kade Bryant a shot further back. The event was won by former Glenelg member Sam Earl with a fine score of 67. In the ladies Zoe Manton was 4th scoring 80. Harry was 3rd in the boys section and Zoe third in the girls. The next event is at The Vines this Sunday.
The series will continue through to late September culminating with the SA Amateur but with a break from May – July for pennants.
