2024 Junior Development Golf Day

On Monday 15th January we held our 2024 Junior Foundation Development Day. This is one of the best and key junior events of the year which is offered to all junior Members.

It involves a 2 hour clinic in the morning for the tier 1-4 juniors in which we had Connor Chant, Sarah King and Ryan Reavley set up multiple areas for the 24 juniors to develop their skills in a games based setting, get to know their fellow juniors/ coaches and ultimately have fun!

After the juniors refreshed with lunch, the afternoon involved a fun 18 hole stableford competition in which the older juniors become mentors to the younger players looking to learn and follow their golfing abilities. The scores were great with Zoe Manton taking top spot with 40pts winning a great Ping Hoofer Golf bag, Blake Wilby had 39pts winning a very nice Ping Glenelg Shirt. Please see the run down of winners below-

The afternoon involved an intermediate/cubs junior clinic for 2 hours, for those juniors that are still getting into golf gaining more experience on the course before playing 9/18 holes individually. We had a great turn out with 8 juniors involved who had lots of fun on course with Ryan. I would like to thank all the major sponsors involved such as the Glenelg Junior Foundation, Ping, Titleist, Schweppes, the Golf Club hospitality and green keeping staff in which helped to make the day a success and create the opportunity to get all Glenelg Juniors and coaches together for a fantastic day.
