Course Enhancement Plan Update

The Club is excited to have re-opened the 4th hole on Thursday 4th January, following Course Enhancement Plan (CEP) works, with the 5th hole closing immediately to commence its own CEP work.

Our Course staff have again done a terrific job in delivering the CEP works to such a high standard, all whilst having to navigate course renovations, unprecedented rainfall and daily turf management plans. I’m sure all Members are excited by this current progress and the maintained quality of turf conditions throughout the Course.

As communicated previously on Friday 22nd January, the re-opening of the 4th hole and closure of the 5th hole has brought into play some “No Play Zone” areas. Following a review of the 4th hole once opened, some minor changes to these “No Play Zone” areas will come into effect on Saturday 6th January.

4th Hole

Minor Changes to Note:

The newly constructed hybrid bunker down the left hand side of fairway will be brought into play, with only the small area between this bunker and the 3rd tee remaining as a “No Play Zone” Please refer to diagram below.

All bunkers on the 4th hole are now in play, with the exception of the sandy waste area on the right hand side of fairway.

When playing the 4th hole, the entire 5th hole and newly constructed sandy waste areas that run from the 5th fairway, around the mounding to the rear of the 4th green and between the 4th fairway and 3rd tee will all be clearly marked a “No Play Zone” please refer to diagram below.

Should your ball come to rest in a “No Play Zone” the “Nearest Point of Relief” back onto the 4th hole must be taken without penalty.

The “Preferred Lie Rule” will be in play throughout the entire 4th hole. Relief may be taken by placing a ball once, within 1 club length from where the ball originally lay not nearer the hole.

3rd Hole

The short right fairway bunker on the 3rd hole has now been returned to play, with only the small native vegetation area yet to establish remaining a “No Play Zone” area. Please refer to diagram below.

19th Hole

No change to playing conditions with the hole remaining in play.

In the unlikely scenario your ball comes to rest in the area marked as “No Play Zone” the “Nearest Point of Relief” must be taken without penalty.

6th Hole

The 6th hole will be played as a short par 4 approximately 285m long, with access from the 4th green to the temporary 6th tee clearly marked in the diagram below.

In the unlikely scenario your ball comes to rest in the area marked as “No Play Zone” the “Nearest Point of Relief” must be taken without penalty.

Members please note, with the closure of the 5th hole and shortening of the 6th hole having a minor affect on all players daily handicaps. With the scratch rating and slope rating all being reduced slightly, Members should expect to be playing off a daily handicap one to two shots lower than would normally be applied.
