Glenelg Seniors lose to Tea Tree Gully 5/2.

It was a tough day at The Vines for the Glenelg Seniors team losing to Tea Tree Gully 5/2.

The Tea Tree Gully team generally handled the windy conditions and fast, tricky greens much better than the Glenelg players.

Deane Harris at No.1 continued his winning form – he was 5 up after 9 holes and maintained that advantage to win 5&4.

Brian Welsh at No.6 was our other winner in his first match for this year – he had a good start to be 3 up early but his opponent fought back to have the match all square after 16, but Brian won 17 and halved 18 for a 1 up win.

With one minor round to play, Glenelg is still on top of the table and guaranteed a semi final berth – however, we have another tough contest against The Vines this week to be played at Blackwood to finish the minor round season.

The Finals series will be fiercely fought out between Glenelg, Tea Tree Gully, The Vines and Blackwood on the 13th and 20th November at Mt. Osmond (semi final) and Kooyonga (The Final) respectively.

The team for next Monday will be finalised over the next couple of days and will be announced by Wednesday evening.
