Glenelg Junior Claims SA Junior Amateur Title

The SA Junior Amateur was held at Kooyonga Golf Club on the 9th and 10th January. The event attracts some of the best junior talent from across the country with 2/3rds of the field, in both the boys and girls events from interstate.

Played across 2 days and 54 holes, Glenelg Junior Kade Bryant had the overnight lead at 3 under thru 36 holes heading into the final round on day 2. Playing in the final group and starting the day with a 3 shot lead, Kade got off to a shaky start and despite being 6 over thru 11 holes, held his nerve over the last 7 holes to finish the round at 6 over and win the SA Junior Amateur by 2 shots at +3 total, with 3 interstate rivals tied for second at +5. Kade now adds himself to the list of Glenelg Juniors to have won one of SA’s largest junior events.

Well done Kade!

The SA week of junior golf continued at Royal Adelaide Golf Club, with the SA Junior Masters played on the 12th & 13th January, with majority of the same field from Kooyonga returning. Following the same format as early in the week, another Glenelg Junior Harry Leaf-Milham topped of a great week of golf and top ten finish with a tie for 7th at +7.

Well done to all Glenelg Juniors who represented the Club with great sportsmanship and professionalism across both events. Glenelg Golf Club had one of the highest numbers of representation of any Club across the week, in both the boys and girls field.
