Welcome Sam, Best Wishes Farewell Raeleen

Many of you may have seen Sam Hughes around the Clubhouse as he commenced in his Club Operations Manager role last Tuesday 6th October. Sam has worked in the Golf Industry for 14 years, is a PGA Professional and currently sits on the PGA SA Division Committee. Sam is keen to pursue a career in Club Management and his experience in golf further enhances the golf knowledge of our administration team.

Whilst having input into all aspect of Club Operations Sam’s main role will be membership. Liaising with current Members, back-end membership administration and recruitment of new Members are all extremely important and a focus for us at Glenelg Golf Club. In addition, Sam will play a key role in Course and Match Committees, whilst also having major input into our junior programmes. The role will further enhance the bond between the Pro Shop and the Club, providing Members with a seamless and positive golfing experience.

Earlier this year Raeleen Day, our Membership and Administration Officer, made the decision to retire and will be finishing at Glenelg on Thursday 19th November. Raeleen has done a fantastic job tending to all Member administration needs as well as inducting many new Members, in particular through the Covid-19 golf boom. Her friendly nature and willingness to go the extra mile for Members will be missed by all. We wish Raeleen well in her new life chapter.
