Congratulations to Peter Senior for taking out the PRO win at Blitz Golf on Sunday here at Glenelg. Peter certainly put on a display for the crowd, reminding us why he is a golfing legend and knocking out all the younger players in the field, 41 years after his breakthrough victory as a professional in the South Australian Open.

Congratulations to Nic Stedman for winning the Blitz Golf AM after a tight chip off final.

The turn-out of spectators certainly showed the growing popularity of this event. It was great to see the huge number of families, children and Members in attendance and we couldn’t have asked for better weather on Sunday.

A huge thank you to all the volunteers who gave up their time to help out on the day: Steve Kelton, Henry Cleland, Geoff Rosser, Ros & Brian Osborn, Bevan Roberts, Bob Loveday, and Scott Petherick. To all the back and front of house staff who worked tirelessly to make sure the food and drinks came out swiftly, well done and thank you. The course looked fantastic, as commended by Peter Senior in his speech, so a big thank you to Tim and his team for the long hours getting the course to where it is.

Congratulations to Aaron Townsend, the Blitz Golf 2020 overall champion, who walks away with just under $25,000. Peter Senior wasn’t far behind and Brett Rankin could’ve leapfrogged everyone with a win at Glenelg, but it wasn’t to be.
