Baby Magpies on Course

As you are on the course you may notice small birds, particularly Magpies or Magpie larks on the ground. Our friends at Fauna Rescue have told us that this is perfectly normal.

These birds are fledglings and their parents kick them out of the nest so they can learn to fly. They are not alone but their parents keep an eye on them from nearby trees and visit them regularly with food and by helping them to try to fly.
