First Loss for A3 Team
Round 5, 3 June

The first match of winter, played at home finding the course in top condition, Glenelg was defeated 3½ to 1½ to West Lakes. This is West Lakes top pennant team.
The match was evenly poised after nine hole, two players were up, two down and one square.
Jo Lendrum, playing number 3, held a commanding lead after nine holes, being 5 up, finishing with a par on the 13th. Accurate shots to the greens saw Jo win 7/5. A very strong win.
Jo Ricourt, just up at the turn, had a very even match over the back nine, resulting in a squared result.
Sue Tuohy was square after 9 holes, and still square at the 16th. This match finished at the 18th. Unfortunately, Sue was just piped out over the last two holes finishing 2 down.
And our number one and two players were never able to overtake their opponents.
Sue Raggatt, just one down after nine, kept in the game over an even back nine, but finished at the 17th, just 2 down.
Our number one player, Sandy Francas, playing long hitting and accurate Young Kim, was unable to get ahead in her match. Sandy was 4 down at the turn, played evenly over the back nine, but not able to win enough holes, finishing on the 15th.
Many thanks to our caddies, Juliet Culley, Fiona Eblen, Jill Gehling, Ros Osborn and Bob Tuohy.
