Pike Cup Round 3 Report

Pike Cup Report

Round 3, 16 June

Playing at Grange West  in near perfect golf conditions, Royal Adelaide A2  team’s play of straight and steady had our girls fighting all the way.

Our top two  – Tilly and Jade (stolen from the A1s) had good leads at the turn, with Jade playing solid golf, chipping well and extending her lead out to win comfortably  6/5.

Tilly had a strong start pegged back but steadied to win 2 /1 with some fine bunker shots saving the day.

With the last three games seesawing, the match was in the balance until a strong comeback from Sam winning 4 of her last 5 holes to square her match.

Bec fought hard though out the day, picking up a few holes on the back 9 to eventually lose 2 /1.

Lou never had a clear lead and showed her fighting spirit to hang on, finishing with a square.

Winning 3 / 2 – a very close match which could have gone either way – cant’ help but think we have dodged a bullet with this one!

Congratulations A2s for staying focused and believing in yourselves – a great win.

Many thanks to Sarah – bunker play, chipping and putting again saved the day.

Special thanks also to the caddies and supporters for spending their Sunday afternoon with us – and to Taylah for her additional assistance in caddying for the A1s.

Our next big challenge is Tea Tree Gully on their home track – can’t wait!
