Cleek 2 Round 5 Report

Round 5, 3 June

This week we played Thaxted Park at Grange West course.  Our team was well prepared and optimistic despite the fact that we had to give shots in every match.

After 5 holes all matches were fairly even but at the turn Gerry Hall was already 4 up while the other matches were still neck and neck.

Annette Rieniets made a strong move early in the back nine and was never headed winning 2/1.

Gerry Hall finished strongly to win 4/3 and Joanne Rice fought strongly all the way to be just one down after 17. It wasn’t to be however as her opponent sank a long putt to win the 18^th.

Jo McCarthy had to give too many shots but fought hard as did Pat Crowhurst who filled in for us again.

Final result: Thaxted Park defeated Glenelg  3/2
