Bonnar Cup Round 6 Report

Dominant Win in Bonnar

Round 6, 23 June

The Glenelg Bonnar boys took full advantage of the home course to dominate the contest against North Adelaide for a convincing 7 nil victory.

It was the sort of day that Team Manager’s dream of – at the half way mark all Glenelg players held significant leads and the team looked headed for that comfortable 7 zip victory.

North Adelaide threw their order around a little in an endeavor to sneakily win a game or two but the Glenelg boys were in complete control.

James Bridgen at No. 7 won 4 & 2 against their usual No. 2 or No. 3 player.

Henry Duregon at No. 6 won 4 & 3.

Ben Magi at No.5 won 7 & 6 – a dominant win by Ben over the usually No.1 player for North Adelaide.

Michael Ratajewski at No.4 won 2 & 1 in the closest contest of the day.

Simon Gallie at No.3 won 4 & 3.

Will Starkey at No.2 won 5 & 4.

David Hiern at No.1 won 7 & 6.

A few thanks for the club hosting the Bonnar Cup day:

  • all the staff in the pro shop and dining areas
  • the greens staff for having the course in such wonderful condition
  • the volunteer starters – Ian Symons (also the rules official) and Darren Royals (also for caddying)
  • Members of Committee and some members that came out to support

We have now qualified for the Semi Final in 2 weeks’ time at Grange West and will either play Kooyonga or North Adelaide depending on overall results next week – when we play against Blackwood at Flagstaff Hill from 12.10pm.

“B” Pennant Team Manager
