Women’s A3 on a Roll
Round 2, 13th May 2019
Glenelg defeated North Adelaide 4 – 1 on a day where a strong north wind created extra demands at Royal Adelaide.
The team was in a very sound position after 9 holes with four matches to Glenelg’s advantage, and one match square.
Juliet Cully, 4 up at the turn, continued her match winning form with a 4/3 win.
Jo Ricourt, finished at the 17th, was up early and held her lead with good pressure putting and again, solid drives.
Sue Tuohy started slowly being 2 down after 2 holes, but then got going – Sue won 5 holes in a row to be 4 up after nine, and continued to play with authority to finish at the 13th
Jo Lendrum played soundly on the front nine, had a par on RA’s signature 7th hole but her opponent had a birdie!. This match was very competitive over the back nine, finishing on the 18th,, unfortunately Jo was one down.
Sue Raggatt, playing number one, had an even tussle all day – square at the 15th, Sue won the important next two holes with good match play shots in the windy conditions, to win at the 17th.
