Tense tussle for Women’s A3

Report by Anne Marks
Team Manager

In Round 6 of Women’s A3 we played the undefeated West Lakes, and finished the day with a well fought squared match!

No. 3 – Jo Lendrum continued her winning form, playing the back nine with precision, particularly the par 3’s, winning 5/3.

No. 5 – Wendy Vaughan was up early in her match hitting drives to advantage, and continued to hold her lead over the back nine, finishing 2 up.

No. 4 – Jo Ricourt kept in touch with her opponent all day, just 1 down after nine, finishing at the 17th, down 2/1.

No. 2 – Unfortunately Fiona Eblen could not follow up last week’s great win, losing 7/6.

No. 1 – Sue Raggatt played inspiring golf over the back nine.  Sue was 3 down at the 10th, then won a string of holes to be square at the 17th.  A tense last hole was halved, resulting in a squared match. Super effort!

Congratulations to players and caddies, the A3’s are now second on the ladder.  The remaining minor round match is next Monday at North Adelaide.

And thanks again to our expert caddies Juliet Culley, Cathy Darling, Jill Gehling, Helen McMutrie and Heather Waddy.
