Sanderson Cup poised for finals berth

Charley Jacobs with John Jacobs

Report by Jill Hodge
Team Manager

Our girls played well at home this week and recorded a convincing 4 – 1 win against Royal Adelaide.  We are now sitting second on the ladder and should remain on track to finish second for the season and qualify for the semi final in two weeks at Kooyonga.

No. 1 – Charley Jacobs defeated Caitlin Pearce 2/1.  Charley played fairly steady all day but the putts were not falling for her, she played well over the last few holes when it counted and got us the win.

No. 2 – Elysia Yap lost to Sophie Hilditch 3/1.  Elysia did not have her best day but did keep fighting hard and I know she will bounce back next week and gear up for the finals.

No. 3 – Sarah Crocker defeated Juliett Hugo 5/3.  Sarah played very well and got off to a great start, which she never let go for a great win.

No. 4 – Josie Gale defeated Anne Ewer 6/5.  Josie outclassed her opponent all day and also got off to a great start and never looked back from that.

No. 5 – Shakira Kuys defeated Julie Michelmore 2 up.  Shakira did not have the best start but fought really well to get back to square at the turn after being 2 down early.  Shakira never gives up and fought out a testing match on the 18th after a 3 putt on 17.  Well done for playing the last so positively.

Thanks to all our great caddies once again and it was great to be at home and see some spectators cheering the girls on.

We take on Mt Osmond at Royal Adelaide this week at 11:50am starting on the 14th Tee.
