Glenelg edged out by home team

Report by Anne Marks
Team Manager

After a victory in Women’s A4 last year our team was promoted to A3, unfortunately our first round match was against Mount Osmond at Mount Osmond.  A tough first round draw!

Hitting off from 8.00am, on a clear calm day, players experienced the hilly Mount Osmond course to be in good winter condition.

After 9 holes, matches were evenly poised, with the back nine deciding match results.

Wendy Vaughan had a great back nine, finishing at the 18th, finishing 2 up, and Jo Lendrum powered through this nine, winning 3/1.

Unfortunately Sue Raggatt, Fiona Eblen, and Jo Ricourt, lost in well fought out even matches.

Results

  1. Sue Raggatt lost 4/2 to Penny Matthews
  2. Fiona Eblen 2 down to Jenny Butcher
  3. Jo Lendrum won 3/1 to Toi Haig
  4. Jo Ricourt lost 5/4 to Sally Attrill.
  5. Wendy Vaughan won 2 up to Lyndall Finch.

Many thanks to our most supportive caddies: Juliet Culley, Cathy Darling, Jill Gehling, Jill McDonald, and Heather Waddy.
