Onwards to the finals, Pike Cup undefeated

Team Manager

On Sunday, 2nd July the Pike Cup team played The Grange at their home course. Glenelg won 5 to 0 after a couple of close matches.

Emma Sutton played Alicia Smith and after a slow start being 2 down after 3 holes, she fired and was able to finish on the 14th after sinking a great putt to par the hole, winning 5/4. Thank you Meredith for your tireless efforts as caddy.

Samantha White played Amelia Whinney and was 1 up after 3 holes and we spectators owe her an apology for not cheering when her second shot on 11 was within a couple of metres of the pin. Sam played exceptionally well and deserved her win 5/3. Thanks again to Lynne who caddied for Sam.

Shakira-Ann Kuys played Nicolle Rantanen and was also 1up after 3 holes. Shakira kept in front all day and I had the pleasure of her father with me in the cart today. Shakira won 1 up. Well done and thanks to Bec Hughes for caddying.

Louise Pike played Sue Hedley, her friend, but she had no sympathy for her as she was 6 up after 6 holes and halved the 7th, her first falter. Louise won 8/7, even though I don’t have the stats for her game I believe she was very close to being on par for the 11 holes that she played. Her caddy, Heather Waddy, may want to steal some of the credit.

Tilly Miels played Lee Sansom today, with Cathy Symons as her caddy. She was 2 up after 3 holes and won 2/1.  The word from her caddy was that she played exceptionally well and had quite a few pars. Well done to Tilly.

I am exceptionally pleased to have been able to manage this team and I find them all exceptional young ladies, but we have one more important match to play next week against Kooyonga at Royal Adelaide Golf Club.
