Junior Division 2 narrowly miss finals

Junior Division 2 just fell short of making the final this year but not for a lack of endeavour (only 1/2 a game in it!). The handicap matchplay format has had it’s extra challenges for our team as we had to give a lot of shots to our opponents (388 but who’s counting!).  It is a learning experience for all the teams entered in the Division 2 competition.

The team played in the right spirit and represented Glenelg Golf Club well and should be proud of their efforts. I am proud of their efforts and enthusiasm in representing their club.

Thank you to the Club for their support of Junior golf.  It goes from strength to strength (and well thought of inside and outside the club).  Thank you to the Pro Shop team for their advice, training and co-ordination, always provided with good humour.

Thanks to the mum and dad taxi services, those that caddied and simply came out to watch. It was certainly appreciated by the team. Thank you to Craig Burns who filled in for me, also much appreciated.

I look forward to celebrating the season with you all at the Pennant Dinner on Sunday.

P.S. The Sharp Cup Team are playing at Flagstaff Hill Golf Club on Sunday in the final, I’m sure they would love some support.
