The Golf SA Senior Pennant season is now underway. This competition comprises of 16 Clubs in 2 equal divisions of 8 teams. The top 2 Clubs from each division then qualify for the Finals, so our first goal is to finish first or second within our division to then qualify for the Finals.
Our starting match was against Penfield on their home course, so it was particularly pleasing to win 5 games and half 2 for a 6/1 winning result – a solid start to the season.
Anthony Doyle (5/4), Sandy Small (6/4), Chris Whitford (4/3), Ken Schebella (5/4) and Doug Clark (4/3) all recorded strong wins. John Keogh had a strong start to lead early but his opponent recovered and played well for a squared result. Wayne Humphries also squared his game after a horror start saw him 5 down after 11!
Our next match is against Mt Barker to be played at South Lakes on Monday, September 26th.
