Twelve Glenelg players have been selected in Golf SA’s 2016/2017 High Performance Program. A total of 20 players from across SA were selected for the elite program.
17-year old teen prodigy, Lachlan Barker is one of four Glenelg members selected in the tier one squad.
Joining Barker will be fellow 17-year old left-hander, Ben Layton, 16-year old Jackson Kalz, and 19-year old Sam Burton, who is also a Tea Tree Gully GC member.
Eight Glenelg juniors make up the twelve players selected in the tier two squad with brothers, Aaron and Jack Buchanan, Harrison Burner, Marcus Kuys, Jacob Rillotta and Jack Tanner all making the cut.
14-year old Charley Jacobs and 16-year old Emma Sutton have also been selected in the tier two squad.
The Program outline includes:
- Squad Coaching Sessions with State Coaching Staff (Video, Trackman, SAM Putt lab/Tomi, Effective Practice Techniques)
- Psychology Group Workshops (Develop Mental Strength)
- Parent Workshop (Psychology of Dealing with Athletes)
- Access to Golf SA Physical Training Centre (Gym facility at Immanuel College)
- Strength & Conditioning Individual Program (Learn to Train)
- Musculoskeletal Screenings and Individual Physio Training Program (Identify Imbalances)
- 3D Bio Mechanical Analysis/ Specific Feedback
