Another big win for Sharp Cup team

Glenelg's Jack Tanner

Report by Paul Grosvenor (Team Manager)

In some very challenging weather conditions, Glenelg’s Sharp Cup team had a resounding 5-0 victory over Country Districts at Tea Tree Gully.

Marcus Kuys played his first game of Sharp Cup for this season.  At number five, he was in control of his match all day, having a very convincing 8/6 win. Well done Marcus!

Jake Rillotta, playing at number four, found himself two down midway through his round, but he dug deep to swing the momentum in his favour through 16. His determination saw him win 2 up, a fantastic result!

Aaron Buchanan was playing at number three and was in control of his match from early in the round winning 5/4. Another great result from Aaron, who is the team’s middle order “Mr. Dependable”.

Harry Burner played his first game of Sharp Cup for the Club following a brief stint in Bonnar Cup.  At number two, he played very disciplined golf to win 3/1. A great effort!

Jack Tanner, at number one, played his first game of Sharp Cup this season. He was 2 down through ten holes and “fired up” showing why he is the Club Champion with exceptional golf on the closing holes, winning 2/1. Great effort Jack!

A big thank you to the parents who braved the weather to support the players, your efforts are GREATLY appreciated!

After two rounds, Glenelg is on top of the Sharp Cup table, not having dropped an individual game. There are two weeks off before the team take on Grange at Grange – a challenge that the boys are very much looking forward to.
