In another clear indication of the strength of the Club’s junior development program, five of the top six placings in the first of Golf SA’s summer Junior Open events at Blackwood and The Vines this week were taking up by Glenelg members.
Whilst The Grange’s Jamie Smith claimed victory in the event, Glenelg’s Brodie Whitbread, Marcus Kuys, Jackson Kalz, Lachlan Barker and Harry Burner all claimed positions 2 through to 6.
Liam Kennewell finished in 11th place, with Josh Gumm, Jack Buchanan and Mitchell Ward all finishing in the top 20. Aaron Buchanan finished in 21st position, whilst 2015 Club Champion, Jack Tanner, had a tournament to forget, finishing in 23rd place. Jacob Rillotta rounded out Glenelg’s entries in 26th place.
The next Golf SA Junior Open event will be held at Flagstaff Hill & The Grange golf clubs on the 14th & 15th December 2015.
