Layton earns place in US Aaron Baddeley junior final

Glenelg's Ben Layton Glenelg’s Ben Layton has earned himself a place in the international final of the Aaron Baddeley International Junior Championships (ABIJC) after finishing fourth in the Australian final held at Heritage Golf & Country Club in Victoria last weekend.

Layton fired rounds of 75, 73, 148 to finish in 4th place and claim a position in the Australian team for the international final being played at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, San Diego from 5th to 10th December 2015.  Along the way, Layton also finished runner-up in the Boys 16 Years section behind Victorian, Cameron John

The World Final of the prestigious ABIJC tournament continues to assemble the most elite international junior golfers from around the world to compete in a professional style 72 hole strokeplay event.

Layton’s good mate and fellow Glenelg member, Lachy Barker, also participated in the Australian final, shooting two rounds of 77 to finish equal 11th overall and equal 4th in the Boys 16 Years section. Joining Layton in the Australian representative team will be fellow South Aussie and Kooyonga junior, Joe Hodgson, NSW’s Jason Hong and the ACT’s Josh Armstrong.
