Lee breaks record on way to SA Am qualifying lead

Glenelg's Jenny Lee

Glenelg’s Jenny Lee has fired a course record 67 around The Grange’s East Course on her way to claiming top spot in the Golf SA Women’s Amateur Championships qualifying rounds.

Lee followed up her 1-over par 73 at Tea Tree Gully yesterday with a stunning 5-under par around the Greg Norman designed East Course.  Her round included seven birdies and two bogeys to finish leading qualifier, nine shots ahead of her closest rival and first round leader, Stephanie Bunque of Victoria Golf Club.

Elysia Yap followed her 78 yesterday with another 78 to finish just outside the top 8, whilst Emma Sutton and Deb Christie also failed to secure a place in the matchplay rounds.
