Kennewell, Kalz win Schools Sports Championships

Glenelg’s Liam Kennewell has won the 2014 South Australian Secondary Schools Sports Association Championship played at the North Adelaide Golf Course (North Course) on Friday, 28 November 2014.

Kennewell, from Henley High School, with a gross score of 69 won the boys championship, ahead of fellow Glenelg junior, Jackson Kalz (Sacred Heart Middle School) and Ben Polkinghorne (Emmaus Christian College), who both had rounds of 71.

Maddie Fitzpatrick from St Johns Grammar won the girls championship with a gross score of 80, two strokes ahead of Jin-Young Yun (82) from Golden Grove High School. Taylah Cooper from Marymount College was third on 89.

On Thursday on the North Adelaide South Course, players competed for the Metro and Country Championship over 18 holes.

In the Metro section, Jackson Kalz claimed the win with a score of 75, while Riley Semovic (Investigator College) and Marcus Kuys (Caritas College) were joint winners of the Country section both with rounds of 81.

Taylah Cooper won the Girls Metro section with a score of 85. There were no entries in the Girls Country section.
