Glenelg’s Josh Hayes and Jenny Lee have progressed through to the quarter finals of the Victorian Amateur Championships being played this week at Victoria Golf Club.
Hayes, after qualifying in 24th, defeated former Glenelg member, College of Elite Golf Player and 2014 Keperra Bowl Champion, Troy Moses, in round 1, and then followed up with a win over Yarra Yarra’s Andrew Schonewille in the 2nd round of matches, and will now play Royal Melbourne’s Darcy Brereton in tomorrow morning’s quarter finals match.
Lee qualified 9th in the Women’s division and disposed of Lakeland’s Eunice Kim 4/2 today to proceed through to her quarter final match tomorrow morning against leading qualifier, Shelley Shin from Concord Golf Club in Sydney.
