Cleek Stick team outclassed by top side Blackwood

Report by Glenys Bartlett
(Team Manager)

Glenelg’s Cleek Stick team were outclassed in the 5th round match against top-side Blackwood at Royal Adelaide on Monday.

On top of some wet weather and a long wait on the 7th hole, it was not a good day for the Glenelg girls, going down to the very strong Blackwood side, 4 matches to 1.

Michelle McCormack was the only winner for Glenelg, defeating Prue Frazer 4/3 in a excellent display of matchplay golf.  Unfortunately, the other girls were unable to replicate Michelle’s great victory and despite close games that could have gone either way, with two matches going up 18, one finishing on the 17th and the other on the 16th, they were simply overwhelmed by the in-form Blackwood players.

Hopefully the team will bounce back next week with a victory.  Best of luck girls.
