Glenelg’s Jenny Lee has taken down Australia’s third ranked amateur, Grace Lennon, in the quarter finals of the 2013 South Australian Women’s Amateur Championships, held at The Grange Golf Club. Lennon, based at Kingston Heath in Victoria was one of the favourites to win the event, fresh off her victory in the Riversdale Cup only a fortnight ago.
Lee clearly thrives under the match play format, after making the final of the Australian Amateur in January and will tackle number three qualifier, Jayvie Agojo from the Phillipines, in tomorrow’s semi final match. We wish her the best of luck.
Glenelg’s Elysia Yap also qualified for the match play, but faced a tough assignment first up and was defeated 6/5 by Rodriguez in the quarters.
