We are pleased to advise members of the signing of two new reciprocal agreements with golf clubs in Queensland.
Twin Waters Golf Club, at Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast, and Links Hope Island, between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, have both been added to our reciprocal list under green fee playing conditions. Agreements with both Clubs offer member introduced green fee prices as opposed to normal rack rates paid by the general public. The new arrangements are in line with already established relationships with Robina Woods (Qld), Murray Downs (Vic) and Joondalup (WA).
Twin Waters Golf Club
Twin Waters Resort Golf Course is a challenging world class 18 hole course designed by the five times British Open Champion Peter Thompson. The British influence is especially evident with the many pot bunkers that are sprinkled around in the best links tradition. The pot bunker beside the 8th green resembles the famous St Andrews Road Hole bunker.
The course design takes full advantage of the natural bushland setting and features rolling generous fairways with many grass covered mounds and hollows. The course’s reputation arguably places it as one of the best courses in the country. Peter Thompson believes that both golfing purists and amateurs alike will enjoy the challenge the course presents, with most players only using the one ball throughout their round. It is a flexible course, testing the boldest professional, the club player and the casual golfer by alteration of tee and pin placements, coupled with strategic positioning of bunkers and the natural vegetation.
Current green fee for Glenelg members is $44.
Guests of Glenelg members are $77
(Fees may be subject to change.)
Links Hope Island
The golf course at Links Hope Island is an 18 holes traditional “links” style championship course designed by five times British Open champion Peter Thomson and the team at Thomson, Wolveridge and Partners. The course has been given a course rating of 74 by the AGU.
The layout and design of the course is reminiscent of the great courses of Britain and Ireland in the “Links-style” tradition. Primarily the course consists of two loops of nine holes the front nine starts off to the southeast in an anticlockwise direction. The back nine heads off in a southwesterly direction, finishing with an interesting challenging two holes bounded by the non-tidal lake. The front and back nines are separated by an extensive practice facility, consisting of putting greens, driving range and chipping green with bunkers.
Current green fee for Glenelg members is $90 (including golf cart)
(Fees may be subject to change.)
