Glenelg jumps five places in Golf Digest rankings

Glenelg has jumped a further five spots from 45 to 40 in the Australian Golf Digest Top 100 rankings, released this week.  This result should be seen as another significant improvement for the Club and shows the continued growth in the Club’s reputation and standing within the golfing community.

The ranking fell short of the recent Golf Australia Magazine rankings, in which Glenelg was ranked 29th, however as with those rankings, Glenelg was one of only a few clubs to actually rise significantly in the rankings.  Two brand new courses entered the rankings this year ahead of Glenelg – Barnbougle Lost Farm (no. 6) and Hamilton Island (no. 39) – obviously having an impact on the Club’s result in the rankings.

Australian Golf Digest reporter, Darius Oliver, wrote “Those that were more fortuitous among the top-50 include the Beach Course at Thirteenth Beach (up five places to 24th), Brookwater (up eight places to 25th), St Andrews Beach (up four places to 28th) and Glenelg (up five places to 40th).”

Only Glenelg and Grange (West) improved their rankings in South Australia, with Kooyonga falling another three spots to 26th, Royal Adelaide dropping four spots to 13th and Links Lady Bay dropping seven spots to 64th.  Grange (West) was ranked 47th.
