{"id":621,"date":"2012-04-05T16:54:12","date_gmt":"2012-04-05T07:24:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.glenelggolf.com\/cms\/?p=621"},"modified":"2023-06-20T15:45:01","modified_gmt":"2023-06-20T06:15:01","slug":"yap-selected-in-state-team","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.glenelggolf.com\/cms\/2012\/04\/yap-selected-in-state-team\/","title":{"rendered":"Yap &#038; Zhou selected in State Team"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.glenelggolf.com\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/elysia-yap.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" \/>Glenelg junior\u00a0Elysia Yap (pictured)\u00a0has been selected to make her senior State debut in the upcoming Australian Women&#8217;s Interstate Series being held locally at West Lakes Golf Club in early May.\u00a0 Her selection follows\u00a0her recent selection as Captain of the Junior Girl&#8217;s State Team, competing in the Australian Junior Championships and Interstate Series in Queensland this month.\u00a0 Amy Zhou, who recently joined Glenelg from Kooyonga has also been selected in the team.<\/p>\n<p>Glenelg&#8217;s Head Teaching Professional, Gareth Jones, will continue in his role as Men&#8217;s State Coach at the Men&#8217;s Interstate Series at Royal Adelaide whilst our own Deb Christie has been named as Team Manager of the Women&#8217;s team.<\/p>\n<p>Tom Bond (The Grange) and Megan Bleeze (Royal Adelaide) have the honour of captaining the respective men&#8217;s and women&#8217;s teams, both of whom will be blooding talented new players.<\/p>\n<p>17 year old State Amateur Champion Jack Williams (The Grange) and Tim Baker (Kooyonga) are the debutantes, along with former Australian Cricketer, Greg Blewett, who holds membership at both Kooyonga and Tea Tree Gully Golf Clubs.<\/p>\n<p>Blewett represented Australia in 46 Test Matches and South Australia over a 15 year career.
